Chatsworth Horse Trials 2014

The annual event at the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire’s parkland at Chatsworth, near Bakewell, in Derbyshire took place from on Friday 16th to Sunday May 18th 2014.

A new team was at the helm this year headed by event director Patricia Clifton with experienced back-up from Gail Dale as event co-ordinator. A former competitor, Patricia is a regular British Eventing steward and FEI technical delegate while Gail was the secretary at Bramham Horse Trials for many years and is now secretary for the Festival of British Eventing at Gatcombe.

Ian Stark, a friend of the Duchess and five-time Olympian, was once again designer of the CIC3* and advanced cross-country course, and David Evans, who was course-builder at the 2008 Beijing Olympics, produced the CIC1* and novice track.

Sir Mark Todd took out the CIC3* on the up and coming Amacuzzi who is certainly on a winning streak (watch them on the cross country at Belton International Horse Trials here) while Ireland’s Sarah Ennis won the Dodson & Horrell Challenge riding Stellor Rebound
