Cornbury House Horse Trials in Oxfordshire will host the FEI Under-25 Eventing World Championships in 2027.
Dates and venues for the new FEI Championship, to be held at CCI4*-S level for riders under the age of 25, were confirmed at the 2025 FEI General Assembly in Hong Kong. The Championship, part of the FEI’s youth development strategy to assist in the transition from Junior/Young Rider to Senior levels, will start in 2026 with the inaugural U25 Championship to be held at Millstreet International Horse Trials (IRE) from July 22nd - 26th 2026.
Supported by British Equestrian and British Eventing, the 2027 FEI Under-25 Eventing World Championship will take place at Cornbury from 8th -12th September 2027, alongside the British Eventing Young Horse Championships and classes for Under-21 riders.
David Howden, president and founder of Cornbury House Horse Trials, which takes place at his home near Charlbury, Oxfordshire, said “I am absolutely thrilled that Cornbury House has been awarded the 2027 Under-25 World Championships - a new concept that should help the sport’s most talented younger competitors make the huge leap from Young Rider teams to senior international squads for Olympic, World and European Championships.
“We are very keen to promote inclusivity within eventing, symbolised by a great diversity of nations represented without compromising competitive quality. With assistance from our global network of sponsors, we aim to assist with travel costs for horses from emerging eventing nations.”
