Eventing New Zealand High Performance squads updated

Andrew Nicholson has five horses on the squad

Eventing New Zealand has announced its updated High Performance squads.

17 combinations have been listed as those with an ability to finish in the top five individually at the World Equestrian Games 2014 and/or Olympic Games 2016.

Not surprisingly Andrew Nicholson is listed with a raft of horses – Nereo, Avebury, Mr Cruise Control, Calico Joe and Quimbo and the evergreen eventer, Sir Mark Todd has three horses named – NZB Campino, Oloa and Leonidas. Another team stalwart, Caroline Powell is listed with Onwards and Upwards

Husband and wife team Jonelle Richards and Tim Price are both listed; Jonelle with The Deputy and Faerie Dianimo while Tim has been named with Wesko.

Lizzie Brown and Henton Attorney General won Boekelo this year and have been rewarded with a spot as have other up and coming lady riders Lucy Jackson with Willy Do and Megan Heath with St. Daniel. Interestingly Megan’s horse is the only one owned by the rider

Jock Paget is listed on both Clifton Promise and Clifton Lush but his position on Squad remains on hold until the outcome of the pending FEI Hearing and Mark Todd’s NZB Campino is currently on “hold” during an injury break

The NZ High Performance Eventing Accelerator Squad, whose aim is to support younger riders and/or horses with a longer term approach to performance enhancement for future championship team representation consists of Clarke Johnstone, Jesse Campbell and Joe Waldron
