No black for Benjamin

Benjamin Winter

The German Olympic Committee for Equestrian-eV (DOKR) will be hosting the memorial service for Benjamin Winter, who was tragically killed on Saturday 14th June in an accident at Luhmuhlen Horse Trials.

The Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, July 1st at 13:00 at the DOKR National Training Centre (BLZ) in Warendorf and those wishing to attend the service have been asked to dress in 'cheerful clothes - no black' by Benjamin’s family. Benjamin will be buried in Dortmund the following day

Dr. Dennis Peiler of the German Olympic Committee for Equestrian-eV (DOKR) says that “Since the DOKR / BLZ in recent years was the centre of life for Benjamin Winter, the family asked us to host the memorial service for Benjamin at the DOKR in Warendorf”

“Many of you had a personal connection to Benjamin. We therefore ask you to write your personal experiences with Benjamin and your memories of Benjamin on an A4 sheet and send to the DOKR or bring along to the memorial service. We will include these memories in a book and subsequently pass to the family”

Christopher Bartle, German team coach and friend of Benjamin, is helping to co-ordinate contributions to the book and you can find out more about the Memorial Service on the Yorkshire Riding Centre facebook page
