It may be the ‘Season to be Jolly’ but we are still reflecting on a season of last year’s 'ups and downs' matched with this year’s 'down and ups!'

Surely 2023 will be void of climatic disasters or pandemic challenges, instead filled with events for us all to work at and train towards so we can enjoy a great new season.

We are certainly hoping for this next year!

First, we would like to thank all our supporters, sponsors and owners - it has been a very testing two years. Bates Saddles, CopRice, Horseland and CEVAequine - you all have fully supported us in times that we were all not accustomed …. you are inspirational and while times have been tough, you all have thought outside the square to keep the enthusiasm in our sport!

We personally are deeply grateful and would confidently speak on behalf of the while equine industry. THANK YOU. Our supporters, Ecomist, Proteq equinebedding and HIDEZ, you have never faltered on your support, again we are truly appreciative.

Thank you also to our owners, Tim Game (Diabolo and Panamera) you are always quietly in the background with support and advice like no other- we are indebted to you and the Blair/Weller family (Pepper and Viennese) - you are fun, engaging and always delightful.

With the season over for 2022, we have to also thank all the event committees for trying so hard to bring us events. It may have failed at times due to Covid, floods and limited travel for International officials BUT you worked tirelessly and we truly believe 2023 will be an exciting and brilliant event season.

Exciting Horse News!

With that in mind, we had some time to build back our team! We are thrilled to announce that we have bought two new horses from overseas

One is a stunning dark grey (5 year old) and the other a lovely bay (6 year old), both geldings. We are very excited, no doubt there will be straws pulled as to which of the Tinneys gets the rides!!

We did finally get some competition in at the end of the year at the Bowral Kubota Festival of Eventing at Wallaby Hill. Stuart and Viennese won the CCN3* class while Gemma rode Cascavall in the CCI2*-L for 10th place with both horses performing very well

What’s In Store for 2023?

We are well rested, and we are ready for a busy 2023

During the first three months we will introduce our new purchases to the world of eventing at the lower levels, while the more experienced horses, Viennese (Vinnie) will work towards 4* and Diabolo will be campaigned towards the CCI5* in Adelaide from 22/23rd April

There is also an FEI Long format competition at Werribee, Victoria from 2nd - 5th February, a welcome addition to the calendar after not having enough qualifying events this 2022 season so we will use this event in the lead up to Adelaide

THE BIG PICTURE - The Olympics 2024 in PARIS of course!  Ooh la la smiley

Wishing you a very engaging Christmas, with friends, family and pets from us all here at Tinney Eventing
