Kiwis dominated at Burghley but weren't at the European Champs in Malmo where Michael Jung set a new standard. The European YR and JR were in France, it was a bizarre case of being "booted out’ at Blenheim where WFP recovered from a horror Saturday and there was plenty of Aussie eventing action

The 2013 Eventing Year Review – August
We spent a few weeks in Normandy at Haras du Pin where Vittoria Pannizon won the WEG Test Event and a successful month for Antipodean riders but the fatal injury of New Zealander Tom Gadsby had riders from all around the world in mourning.

Our bloggers seem to have survived some incredible moments this year and the third placed Althea (Alfie) Bleekman joins the list with a spectacular save in the water jump at Barbury.

Temperatures ‘soared’ in the UK for Barbury/Wimbledon but the most exotic location of the month was Pattaya, Thailand while they were chilly days for Australian eventers in Tamworth, Quirindi and Melbourne. There were awards, the Lamb National, the Stig, a baby for Zara and lots more …..
