Day One is done at Burnham Market (2) in Norfolk and Bubby Upton has taken the TCN3* on MJM Bobby Dazzler

It took a while to work out exactly what the acronym TCN stands for (apparently a Targeted Class National), but what we do understand is that the TCN 2* and TCN3* classes being run at Burnham Market (2) are basically national one day events ratified by the FEI to enable horses and riders to get MER’s that they may have otherwise missed due to qualifying events being cancelled.

Bubby beat off the very in-form Piggy French who finished second and third on Brookfield Inocent and Carnival March; Piggy also finished second in the other big class of the day riding Calling Card in the Open Intermediate Section D.

Willa Newton was the winner of that class riding Caja 20 and she also took the win in the Intermediate Section B on Cock A Doodle Doo, making it a very good day at the office for Willa

Today the TCN2* class is taking place and Australia's Kevin McNab has taken an early lead on Fortune III with a dressage score of 25 - we'll be back later in the week with a full report!
