The FEI Eventing Nations Cup Series is set for a major change in 2026.
In 2026 the FEI Eventing Nations Cup Series will move to being a series of qualifying events with a Final at the end of season where all qualified teams will start on a zero score to decide the Series winner.
The Series, first introduced in 2012, has previously run on a cumulative points basis throughout the season, meaning that the winning nation was often decided before the Final. The aim of the new format, which will continue to run at CCI4*-S level for qualifiers and CCI4*-L at the Final, is to make the Series winner less predictable and provide heightened excitement at the big finale.
Currently there are five qualifying legs on the 2026 FEI Eventing Nations Cup calendar with the best three results from the qualifiers to be counted (there is no limit to the number of qualifiers that a nation can take part in) and the top 10 teams moving forward to the Final.
In 2027 the FEI Eventing Nations Cup Series also has the added bonus of providing an LA28 Olympic berth for the winning nation (excluding teams already qualified in accordance with the qualification pathway set out in the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games Qualification System – Eventing).
