Chris Burton, Tom McEwen and Alex Bragg are back at Pau in 2020

The final entry list for at Les Etoiles de Pau, taking place from 21st – 25th October, has now been revealed

48 athletes with 62 horses from 10 countries will contest the only CCI5* this year at Pau in southern France, which is actually a higher number of entries than in 2019 when there were 42 starters

Last year’s winners Tom McEwen and Toledo De Kerser are returning to the site of their first CCI5* victory along with 18 other riders from Great Britain.

These include World Number One with MHS King Joules, who just won the Open Intermediate at Kelsall Hill (2), Izzy Taylor riding Artful Trinity, Nicola Wilson and Bulana, Piggy March with Brookfield Inocent, Kitty King with Vendredi Biats and Ros Canter with Zenshera. Alex Bragg, who finished fourth last year, returns with Zagreb and also King of the Mill

Australia and New Zealand have seven riders with 12 horses between them. Australia’s Chris Burton, who finished second to Tom last year with Quality Purdey, brings Graf Liberty this year while Kevin McNab has Scuderia 1918’s A Best Friend and Don Quidam and Bella English will be riding the evergreen and ever gorgeous Feldale Mouse

New Zealand’s Team Price are bringing six horses between them; Tim has Wesko, Ringwood Sky Boy, Xavier Faer and Bango while Jonelle will ride Grovine De Reve and 2018 Luhmuhlen winner, Faerie Dianimo. They are joined by Caroline Powell with Up, Up and Away and Jesse Campbell riding Cleveland, who completed his first 5* at Badminton last year

The local crowd (and yes, there will be spectators) will love supporting the 12 French combinations and Germany has five, with Sandra Auffarth on Viamant Du Matz as one to watch

We’ll be back with more on our ‘Ones to Watch’ and our video preview but, in the meantime, you can check out the full list HERE
