Mask on for Les 5 Etoiles de Pau 2020

Chris Burton and Quality Purdey took second place in 2019

The organising committee of Les 5 Etoiles de Pau in France has confirmed that the event will go ahead as planned from 21st – 25th October and that spectators will be allowed

The event will have a limit of 5,000 attendees ‘simultaneously on the equestrian stadium and village zone’ who will ‘be able to walk alongside the 6.5 km course, in the 65 hectares of the Domaine de Sers’

Spectators will be welcomed ‘with all the security measures discussed with the authorities, including the mask which will be mandatory everywhere on the venue’

It will be the only CCI5* eventing competition to be run in 2020 with the cancellation of the Australian International 3 Day Event, which is usually the last 5* of the year in November in Adelaide having been cancelled earlier in the year. Kentucky, Badminton and Burghley were also cancelled due to Covid-19.

Last year’s runner-up, Australia’s Chris Burton, has confirmed that he will be competing in the French CCI5* and no doubt will be hoping to go one better in 2020
