Henton Attorney General - from New Zealand to Scotland

Rosa Onslow and Henton Attorney General in the dressage phase at Blair Castle

Bred in New Zealand at Henton Lodge Hanoverians, Henton Attorney General (Frank) came to the UK in 2012 with his rider Lizzie Brown when she made the big move from New Zealand. After a bit of a shaky start, which Lizzie told us about in this interview, they went on to win the CCI2* at Brightling Park and Blair Castle then topped off 2013 with a win in the CICO3* at Boekelo.

In 2014 they were once again successful at a Nations Cup, this time second at Houghton Hall but in 2015 Lizzie made the decision that Henton Attorney General was more suited to a less demanding role, which was when Rosa Onslow took over the ride

We met 17 year old Rosa at Blair Castle this year where Frank was once again doing a sterling job for his rider. Rosa, from Hawick, Roxburghshire, was one of 17 Scottish riders competing in the CCI1* and her 10th place finish earned her the Best Under 25 Scottish rider title as well as being the highest placed Scottish rider in the class.

We talked to Rosa about how Frank came into her life and how their weekend had gone at their first ever visit to Blair Castle
