Kitty King and Vendredi Biats cruise to victory at Rockingham

Kitty and Vendredi Biats cruise around the course

Kitty King’s Vendredi Biats won the CIC2* at Rockingham in 2016 and he did it again this year.

The eight year old grey gelding had the only cross country fault of his international career so far at Le Lion d’Angers last year so he returned to 2* level at Belton in May for second place and went one better at Rockingham to easily take the win on 38.4, well ahead of second placed Jonty Evans riding Alamo (46.7) and Sweden’s Ludwig Svennerstal riding Box Leo (47.1)

Luckily ‘Froggy’ loves a bit of mud and, although the cross country tracks were still in good shape despite heavy rain at Rockingham, Kitty didn’t even ‘really take the hand brake off!’, adding just 1.6 time penalties on cross country to their very good dressage score
