Tim Price's Wesko out of contention for Rio

Tim Price’s 4* horse Wesko has unfortunately been withdrawn from Rolex Kentucky and Badminton due to injury.

The 13 year old Dutch warmblood that won the CCI4* at Luhmuhlen in 2014, was the runner-up to Michael Jung in Kentucky and third in Pau last year will have to sit out the rest of the season due to a soft tissue injury. It is a blow for Tim as Wesko was a serious contender for not only New Zealand Olympic selection but also a podium finish and Tim is now working on options to ensure Olympic selection this year.

He will now be competing his 10 year old Irish Sport Horse Bango, who finished 15th at his first 4* start at Luhmuhlen last year, at Rolex Kentucky and last weekend rode Cloud Dancer in the CIC2* at Belton.

Cloud Dancer, winner of the CIC3* at Blenheim last year, has gained Olympic qualification with Tim’s wife Jonelle. Tim will now take over the ride and head to Saumur to hopefully add another horse to his team for Rio selection
