Attention all cross country fence judges!

Peter and Tori Asprey - fence judges extraordinaire!

Calling all fence judges – it’s time to get ready for the 2018 eventing season!

We LOVE fence judges! We must admoit it’s a bit of a selfish viewpoint as they are lovely people when it comes to keeping an eye on our little cross country video cameras whirring away all day on their own

But of course Fence judges play a far more important role than that. They are indispensible to the sport of eventing, not only calling in the results of each fence but keeping an eye out for safety of horse and rider. You can find out more about why Fence Judges love their role in our interview with the 2016 Fence Judges of the Year, Peter and Tori Asprey

In January and February British Eventing is running a series of Fence Judge training days, aimed at those just starting out as Fence Judges. Covering a range of topics from the theory and practicalities of fence judging to dealing with various scenarios, they are perfect for those who wish to start the new season with confidence

As they also cover new rules for 2018 the training days are also beneficial for more seasoned Fence Judges just wanting to brush up or maybe introducing a friend to the sport

The training is free of charge and open to anyone, lunch is provided and, as well as taking home a handy booklet, you will get to spend a fun day with other lovers of the sport
