Last weekend saw some hot competition at the Keyflow Feeds Barbury International and we’re heading back to the iconic Barbury venue again this week for the Cotswold Cup Qualifier at Barbury Unaffiliated Horse Trials

Launched in 2021, The Cotswold Cup has fast become THE unaffiliated eventing series to take part in and win. Events take place across venues in the Cotswolds and surrounding areas and this year will culminate in a very exciting long format final at Cirencester Park from 23rd – 25th September.

Barbury Unaffiliated runs from Friday 15th – Sunday 17th July and, although it will be warm on Sunday with 27 degrees currently forecast by the Met Office, temperatures of 23 and 25 degrees on Friday and Saturday look very pleasant.

Everything is planned to go ahead as normal but Musketeer Events will of course ‘continue to monitor the ground and weather and will do everything we can to help competitors and horses get round safely’ including

  • Water will be available to use at the end of the XC course
  • Water troughs will be filled in the stables and lorry park areas
  • The stewards/course builders/officials and organisers will all be carrying water for riders and horses if they are stopped on course
  • Prize-givings will not be taking place, to minimise time on-site (Rosettes will be available to collect or can be posted out)

Barbury Unaffiliated kicks off on Friday with 80cm, 90cm and 100am classes. Saturday sees the Junior and Senior 80cm and 90cm classes take place with more 90cm classes plus 100cm for Senior and Junior on Sunday

We’re filming all riders on cross country and you can also follow us on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter for video snippets and more during the event
