Australia and New Zealand will have the first riders out of the blocks in the CCI5* at the Land Rover Kentucky Three Day Event next week

USA-based Australian rider Clayton Fredericks has been drawn as the first rider out on board the first of his three horses, FE Ophelia and New Zealand’s Jonelle Price will follow him with the first of her three horses, the mare Grappa Nera at her first CCI5* event.

Will Coleman and Dondante are the first combination for the USA in third place and the defending champion, Britain’s Oliver Townend, on board Tregilder are in the fourth spot. Oliver’s horse that has won twice here in 2018 and 2019, Cooley Masterclass, comes later in the day at number 34 and his Burghley winner Ballaghmor Class will be one to look forward to towards the end of the day at number 68.

71 riders are currently listed with the USA’s Buck Davidson the last ride of the days on board Carlevo

Australia’s Kevin McNab is the only UK based Australian competing in Kentucky and he rides Scuderia 1918 Don Quidam shortly after Oliver and Cooley Masterclass while Britain’s William Fox-Pitt, another past winner here, has changed rides and is now bringing Oratorio instead of Little Fire. The 12-year-old gelding by another of William’s 5* winners, Oslo, has had one previous 5* start at Badminton in 2019 for 13th place

Tim Price, who finished third here in 2019, returns with Xavier Faer and will be another one to look forward later in the day while his first ride is on Bango earlier in the draw
