One of our new featured events for 2015 is the Rockingham Castle International Horse Trials which runs from 22nd - 24th May. Set in the beautiful Park overlooking the Welland Valley in the heart of England we’ll be providing not only daily coverage from the event but also videoing every rider on the cross country course. The courses have attracted widespread praise for variety and technical difficulty and provide superb viewing for spectators but, if you can’t be there, we’ll bring it to you! This year Captain Mark Phillips is designing the CIC2* course

The event, formerly known as the Brigstock Horse Trials, was cancelled in 2012 due to the sale of the then host property at Fermyn Woods Hall but made a strong comeback in 2013 at its new home at Rockingham Castle. Over 1,000 entries were received in its inaugural year and in 2014 the Brigstock name was dropped with the event simply becoming known as Rockingham Castle International Horse Trials

One of the features of this event is the fabulous hand-made watch, valued at £7,500, provided as a prize by the event's official time-keeper Robert Loomes & Co. to the competitor who finishes the cross country closest to the optimum time. Last year it was the second placed rider in the Open Intermediate, Irish rider Austin O'Connor who was the delighted recipient of the very special wristwatch finishing one second inside the optimum time across country.
