British Equestrian and the British Eventing Selectors can confirm that a change has been made to the team who will represent Great Britain at CCIO4*-S Nations Cup at CHIO Aachen, Germany, held on 17–19 September.

Emilie Chandler, riding Maria Doel’s Gortfadda Diamond, will replace Ben Hobday and Shadow Man, following Ben’s withdrawal from the event.

  • Emilie Chandler (40) from Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire, with Maria Doel’s Gortfadda Diamond (brown, gelding, 12yrs, 16.2hh, Water Valley Cool Diamond x Glacial Storm, Breeder: Sean Thomas Lydon IRL)

British Equestrian and the British Eventing selectors have advised the combinations who will represent Great Britain at the CCIO4*-S Nations Cup at Aachen CHIO in Germany

The selected combinations, in alphabetical order by athlete surname:

  • Kirsty Chabert (32) based in Salisbury, Wiltshire, with John Johnston and Carole Somers’ Classic IV (bay, mare, 12yrs, 16.1hh, s. Calvaro FC, Breeder: P. Charles GBR)

 

  • Laura Collett (31) based in Salperton, Gloucestershire, with Diana Chappell, Gillian Morris-Adams, Alison and Michael Smedley and Carolyn Taylor’s Dacapo (dark brown, gelding, 12yrs, 16.2hh, Diarado x Canturo, Breeders: Kirstin and Eggbert Bock GER) or Keith Scott, Nick How and her own Mr Bass (bay, gelding, 13yrs, 16.2hh, Carrico x Exorbitant XX, Breeder: Henning Heinz GER)

 

  • Kristina Cook (50) based Findon, West Sussex, with Elisabeth Murdoch and Keith Tyson’s Billy the Red (chestnut, gelding, 14yrs, 16.1hh, Balou du Rouet x Stan The Man XX, Breeder: Michaela Weber-Herrmann GER)

 

  • Ben Hobday (33) based in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, with Jane Chamber’s and his own Shadow Man (chestnut, gelding, 11yrs, 17hh, Fidjy of Colors x Winningmood van de Arenberg, BEL)

 

  • Zara Tindall (40) based at Gatcombe, Gloucestershire, with the Gleadhill House Stud Ltd’s Class Affair (chestnut, gelding, 12yrs, 16hh, OBOS Quality x Laughtons Flight, Breeder: Maurice O’Brien IRL)

 

Four combinations will compete as a team, with the fifth competing as an individual. This decision will be announced nearer the time.

Laura Collett will also compete in the Ride and Drive class, with her chosen horse still to be confirmed.

The World Equestrian Festival, CHIO Aachen 2021, originally scheduled for June, will now run from 10th - 19th September with the eventing competition taking place from 17–19 September
