Andrew Cooper on Sharvalley Thunder at Tamworth International Eventing CCI 2025
It has been a while since we’ve seen Andrew Cooper’s big grey gelding Sharvalley Thunder on cross country, but he proved he was on top form last weekend, winning the CCI4*-S at Tamworth.
The pair were 10th after the dressage but a clear round during the Saturday evening showjumping moved them up to fifth and they finished on their dressage score of 35.10 thanks to a double clear round on cross country. Read our full report from this event here
Frangible fence technology at 2025 Eventing Spring Carnival
New style frangible deformable fences, designed to look like traditional cross country fences, will feature heavily across the cross country courses at the 2025 Eventing Spring Carnival at Thoresby
Stuart Buntine, who recently became Chair of the FEI Risk Management Steering Group, demonstrated the new style fences, saying “We must do anything we can do to push the conversation, encourage development and not rest on our laurels”.
Laura Collett on London 52 at Riseholm College Lincoln Horse Trials 2025
It was definitely Laura Collett’s Sunday with the Paris 2024 Olympic gold and bronze medallist claiming both Open Intermediate classes at Riseholm College Lincoln Horse Trials.
Laura and her Paris horse London 52 romped to a win in the Open Intermediate Section S on their dressage score of 20.2 ahead of Storm Straker riding Fever Pitch (25.9) and Susie Berry on Ringwood LB (31.3), while Laura’s Dacapo took fifth place. Read our full report here
Kirstie Law on Mystic Shadows Little Miss Gypsy at SMZ JB & Tooradin Estate Horse Trials 2025
Competitors in the Pony Club and Open eventing classes at SMZ -JB & Tooradin Estate Horse Trials on 16th March 2025 battled on through the wet and windy conditions but still managed to have a good day.
